We say 'no!' to hate speech that is so much present in the space of Kazimierz and Podgórze in a form of anti-Semitic graffiti. We paint them over, we learn and we teach how shall one act to eliminate this form of hate speech from our environment.

This project was launched in September 2014 and will be continued until December 2015, and it includes following activities:

  • to create the Map of Shame, which will be a tool to monitor anti-semitic graffiti in Kazimierz and Podgórze
  • to train approximately 20 volunteers – The Machers – in how to discover and react agaist hate speech, in antidiscrimination, monument preservation as well as good practice in eliminating hate speech from the public space
  • to remove anti-Semitic graffiti from selected places in Kazimierz and Podgórze, in compliance with inhabitants and owners of the buildings
  • to create a manual showing procedures to eliminate hate speech, in a form of video clip available in the internet
  • to do the workshops in Krakow schools teaching how to react against the hate speech

realization: ElektroMoon Vision, music: Jędrzej Rusin

The project has also a second component, dedicated to the institutional development of the Jewish Culture Festival Society in the fields of PR, management, communication. They will make our festival team even more professional!

The Machers are the main and direct beneficients of this project, but we will also invite inhabitants of Kazimierz and Podgórze to their actions.

This project receives financial support from the EOG funds as a part of the program Citizens for Democracy, operated by Stefan Batory Foundation.
